I'm so excited to share Marina's wedding in Seville. Because the bride is pure energy, optimism, fun and joy. Because she was radiant with beauty and happiness, because it was a joy to create her nude spiked mimoki, and those of her nieces that we shared, and many others for that day.
Because it was a beautiful and fun wedding, just like Marina and Nicky! I enjoyed it with them and I wanted her to be the one to tell how she lived her big wedding with Latin rhythms and Andalusian flavour.
“The place…
When Nicky and I got engaged, the first thing we had to decide was whether we would get married in the United States or in Spain. Since we both live in Miami, the idea of doing it in Spain was difficult, but… If you want it, you can! And that’s how, with all the support of my mother, we managed to organize an incredible wedding in Seville, where I was born…
The original idea was to have the celebration at some country house, but there were so many guests who had flown in from across the pond that we decided it had to be somewhere central. When my friend Maria told me that her cousin was the chef at the Hotel Alfonso XIII I didn't think twice. It was the perfect place!
Between Mirka Events and The Jesús Fuertes Gallery decorated the hotel's gardens and lounge.

Outfits…
The next step was to decide on a dress. The first thing I did was start browsing Instagram, discovering a new world for me. I knew that my dress would be “made in Spain” and also that it had to be a collection model, since living so far away I wouldn’t be able to do many fittings. That’s when I discovered Beba's Closet and I had a hunch. On my next visit to Madrid, my mother made me appointments at several places, but when I got to Bebas I found it! Since I didn’t see myself in white, when I saw that pink dress I thought it had to be for me…
I was clear that I wanted to wear a mimoki on my head, so once I had chosen the dress I sent them a photo and they made me exactly what I was looking for (although I didn't know it at the time).
Nicky wanted to wear a blue morning suit but it seems that they don't exist in Miami, so we went for the option that never fails: Scalpers . My brother-in-law gave him the tie, which was also from Scalpers. He looked great!
Makeup and hair…
Álvaro Talayero performed a miracle for me… The night before the wedding I was out until 5am, so on the day of the wedding I was a little “touched”… But nothing that a magician like Álvaro couldn’t fix!
The wedding…
It was especially exciting to see, for the first time, how our families and friends met each other and enjoyed this day. Americans, Cubans, Colombians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Spaniards… An incredible cultural exchange!
Will Marsala was the photographer. I love all the photos he took! Everyone told me they didn't know how, but he was everywhere… He was also accompanied by his friend Jose Salto, another great professional who took care of the video.
The best for last. The party organized by Mickey Pavón , a guaranteed party. To start with, he turned the hotel lounge (which is very traditional) into a club and then well… lights, music… and the rest you know…”
